Nasco Properties

Cooperative Housing

Scholz Nonprofit Law is proud to serve the North American Students of Cooperation (NASCO) Family, an organization dedicated to expanding cooperative housing opportunities across North America. One of the entities within the NASCO Family is NASCO Properties, which has a mission of providing long-term affordability and protecting cooperative housing from market forces that often lead to displacement and gentrification.

We supported NASCO Properties through the acquisition of four new cooperative properties, bringing its collective ownership portfolio to 20 buildings. These properties are now part of NP’s unique “co-op of co-ops,” which leverages equity from the buildings it owns to provide purchasing collateral to new and existing housing cooperatives.
